About the role

Walz Tetrick Advertising is seeking an experienced Senior Media Buyer, Paid Search to help manage and grow paid search programs across a diverse portfolio of clients.

We're looking for a highly skilled, hands-on Paid Search professional who can immediately take ownership of assigned accounts, independently manage day-to-day execution and optimization, and proactively identify opportunities to improve client performance.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking, analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills. They are comfortable managing complex campaigns, translating data into actionable recommendations and collaborating with internal teams and clients.

As Paid Search continues evolving through artificial intelligence, automation and changing consumer behaviors, this individual will also help WTA evaluate and implement emerging capabilities that drive measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities:

Paid Search Strategy & Campaign Management

Independently manage and optimize paid search programs across Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and other relevant platforms.  Develop and execute campaign strategies aligned with client business objectives and performance goals.  Lead campaign builds, restructures, launches and ongoing optimization across multiple client accounts.  Manage keyword research, search query analysis, bidding strategies, budgets, targeting and ad copy development.  Execute campaigns across Search, Performance Max, Demand Gen, YouTube and other relevant Google advertising solutions.  Proactively identify opportunities to expand qualified reach, improve efficiency and drive conversions.  Monitor campaign pacing and performance to ensure investment aligns with client objectives.

Performance Optimization & Measurement

Analyze campaign performance to identify trends, challenges and opportunities for growth.  Develop optimization strategies focused on improving conversion volume, cost efficiency and business outcomes.  Leverage Google Ads, Google Analytics 4 and other measurement platforms to evaluate performance.  Understand conversion tracking, attribution, enhanced conversions and offline conversion imports.  Collaborate with analytics and technical teams to troubleshoot measurement challenges.  Translate complex performance data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

Client Communication & Collaboration

Serve as a trusted Paid Search resource for internal teams and assigned clients.  Communicate campaign performance, strategic recommendations and optimization opportunities clearly and confidently.  Contribute to client presentations, performance reviews and strategic planning discussions.  Collaborate with Account Service, Planning, SEO, Creative, Analytics and other media teams to support integrated marketing strategies.  Proactively bring forward ideas and recommendations beyond routine campaign management.

AI, Automation & Innovation

Stay current on emerging Paid Search capabilities, including AI Max, Performance Max and automated bidding.  Identify and execute opportunities to test new platform features and advertising solutions.  Leverage automation, scripts and AI-powered tools to improve campaign efficiency, quality assurance and performance.  Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, case studies and evolving Paid Search best practices.

Account Operations & Quality Assurance

Maintain accurate budgets, pacing, campaign documentation and reporting.  Follow established quality assurance processes for campaign launches, restructures and ongoing optimizations.  Ensure campaigns adhere to platform policies, client requirements and agency best practices.  Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.  Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

4+ years of hands-on Paid Search experience, preferably within an advertising agency or multi-client environment.  Demonstrated ability to independently manage Google Ads campaigns and meaningful media budgets.  Strong expertise in Search campaign strategy, keyword management, bidding, optimization and performance analysis.  Experience with Performance Max and automated Google Ads campaign solutions.  Proficiency with Google Ads Editor, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Advertising.  Strong understanding of conversion tracking, attribution and performance measurement.  Experience managing multiple client accounts and competing priorities.  Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business recommendations.  Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing presentations.  Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.  Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:

5–7 years of meaningful hands-on Paid Search experience.  Experience managing complex, multi-account or enterprise-level Paid Search programs, including substantial budgets, multiple business objectives and sophisticated conversion measurement.  Experience with Search Ads 360 (SA360), Campaign Manager 360 (CM360) and Floodlight conversion tracking.  Experience across travel/hospitality, entertainment, healthcare, financial services, retail or other competitive industries.  Familiarity with offline conversion imports, CRM integrations and value-based bidding.  Experience with Google Ads scripts, automation and workflow efficiency tools.  Experience contributing to new-business pitches, account onboarding or strategic planning.  Experience mentoring junior Paid Search team members.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Independently own assigned Paid Search accounts with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Consistently identify and implement opportunities to improve campaign performance.
  • Maintain strong operational accuracy, QA standards and account organization.
  • Communicate confidently and proactively with clients and internal teams.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities before they become urgent.
  • Contribute strategic thinking beyond routine campaign management.
  • Help advance WTA's Paid Search capabilities through innovation, automation and emerging technologies.
