About the role

About the Role

Join an energy technology team developing high-voltage power systems. You will turn early-stage prototypes into testable alpha hardware for initial design partners, combining hands-on engineering with AI-enabled workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Refine lab-scale prototypes into structured, testable hardware systems ready for customer evaluation.

  • Design high-voltage DC power conversion, switching, and distribution architectures, including systems using SiC devices.

  • Model and validate electrical, thermal, and system-level performance using simulation tools such as SPICE or PLECS.

  • Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, and characterization with high-power equipment, addressing switching, timing, sensing, and protection challenges.

  • Use AI tools, including agents and language models, to accelerate design, simulation, testing, and iteration.

  • Coordinate PCB fabrication, component sourcing, and packaging with external partners.

  • Balance performance, thermal requirements, reliability, and manufacturability in system-level design decisions.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 years of experience designing, prototyping, and testing power electronics systems, with experience taking hardware from prototype through validation.

  • Hands-on skills in circuit design, gate drivers for fast-switching architectures, and high-voltage or high-power systems.

  • Experience with electrical simulation tools such as SPICE and PLECS, and familiarity with technologies such as SiC or GaN.

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated aptitude in power electronics.

  • Strong intuition for electrical systems and the ability to reason across electrical, thermal, and mechanical tradeoffs.

  • Experience integrating AI tools into an engineering workflow.

  • Background in EVs, EV charging, solar, or battery storage is useful.

  • Curiosity demonstrated through hands-on projects, such as Formula SAE, is welcome.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $175,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
