About the role
About Bobyard
Construction is a multi-trillion-dollar industry that still estimates by hand. Contractors measure and count materials off drawings manually, and it caps how many jobs they can bid. Bobyard uses computer vision and NLP to automate takeoffs and estimates, so contractors bid faster and win more. We raised a $35M Series A led by 8VC, with Primary and Pear, and we're growing fast.
About the role
You will set product direction across our core takeoff platform and our next 0→1 bets. This is a senior IC role with company-level scope: define where the product goes over the next 2–3 years, make the hard tradeoffs, and raise the bar for how product is built here.
Staff at Bobyard is not a bigger Senior title. It is a different job: you own direction across product areas, you define how the whole org specs, prioritizes, and runs discovery, and other PMs get better because you are here.
What you'll own
The multi-year vision for takeoff and adjacent pre-construction workflows, turned into a roadmap with named tradeoffs
New products from thesis to first prototype to repeatable revenue — not just to launch
Decisions with ML and engineering on where models automate and where humans stay in the loop, with reasoning the org can follow
Alignment across engineering, design, sales, marketing, and CS on positioning, pricing, and launches
The product practice itself: how we spec, prioritize, and run discovery, and how PMs here are mentored and evaluated
Outcomes at company level, not just for your area: adoption, revenue impact, and product quality across the platform
What success looks like in 90 days
A 2–3 year direction for your scope that leadership, engineering, and sales can all repeat back — and a roadmap that follows from it
At least one hard tradeoff made and defended publicly inside the company, with a clear before/after on what it changed
A visible improvement in how the product org discovers, specs, or prioritizes — a process others adopt, not a doc you wrote alone
What we're looking for
7+ years in product management, owning strategy for a product or product line — with company-level scope, not just a feature area
Shipped at least one 0→1 product to repeatable revenue, with traction you can quantify
Built AI/ML-driven products or B2B software for complex workflows
Strong judgment under ambiguity, with reasoning you can explain and defend when the data is incomplete
You have mentored PMs and helped build a product practice — this is a requirement, not a nice-to-have
Pricing and packaging judgment, or a track record of learning it fast on a real product
Nice to have
Construction or pre-construction experience
Experience scaling a product org's process as headcount and product surface grew
A note on pace
We move fast, and priorities shift as we learn from customers. At Staff level, you do not just survive that — you set the pace. You decide what deserves urgency, what gets cut, and what the org stops doing. If that responsibility excites you, you'll fit in well. If you need someone else to set direction first, you won't.
