At TN HomeBuyers, we believe great outcomes come from people who take ownership, support their team, and consistently deliver on what they promise.
Position Overview
TN HomeBuyers is seeking an experienced General Manager to strengthen business operations, develop capable managers, and drive measurable improvements in financial and operational performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced operator who understands how to run a profitable business, manage resources responsibly, and build teams that consistently deliver results.
The General Manager will lead execution within assigned operating functions, establish consistent management practices, and work closely with commercial leadership to improve productivity, accountability, and organizational performance.
We are looking for someone who has successfully improved business profitability by developing people, increasing productive capacity, optimizing resources, and building more efficient workflows. The right candidate knows that sustainable growth requires more than controlling expenses. It requires capable managers, strong operating systems, sound business decisions, and teams equipped to consistently deliver results.
This person should be comfortable diagnosing problems, challenging existing practices, making difficult decisions, and implementing solutions that produce measurable improvements.
The ideal candidate brings the experience and judgment to step into an entrepreneurial environment, understand what is working and what is not, and help build a lean, profitable, professionally managed organization that operates predictably without constant executive intervention.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Drive measurable improvements in profitability, operational efficiency, and productive capacity through disciplined resource management, process improvement, and team development.
- Manage budgets, staffing, productivity, and performance within assigned operating functions, while partnering with commercial leadership to strengthen company-wide execution and accountability.
- Build and develop capable managers by establishing clear expectations, conducting regular one-on-ones, inspecting performance, providing coaching, and holding leaders accountable for results.
- Evaluate staffing levels, organizational capacity, and team productivity to ensure resources are appropriately aligned with business needs, including making difficult personnel and operating decisions within approved authority.
- Establish and maintain effective management systems, including KPI scorecards, operating meetings, accountability rhythms, SOPs, and cross-functional workflows.
- Use financial reporting, Salesforce, dashboards, and operational data to identify performance gaps, challenge assumptions, and implement corrective action.
- Partner with commercial leadership to strengthen coordination between sales, marketing, lead generation, and business operations while supporting profitable growth.
- Identify recurring operational inefficiencies and implement sustainable process improvements that reduce waste, improve execution, and increase organizational capacity.
- Improve management accountability by ensuring departmental commitments, performance expectations, and corrective actions are consistently completed.
- Build a professional, high-performing culture that reinforces TN HomeBuyers' core values, promotes candid communication, develops team members, and reduces dependence on constant executive intervention.
Ideal Candidate Experience and Skill Sets
- Proven operating experience with meaningful P&L or operating-budget responsibility, including direct accountability for expenses, staffing, productivity, and business performance.
- Demonstrated history of improving business performance, including strengthening profitability, increasing productivity, developing organizational capacity, or implementing operational improvements that produced measurable financial results.
- Experience building, developing, and managing department leaders or managers, including coaching performance, establishing accountability, and making difficult personnel decisions.
- Proven ability to implement operational improvements and management systems that produced measurable business results.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret P&L statements, understand cost structures, evaluate business trade-offs, and manage resources responsibly.
- Experience using CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, along with dashboards, reporting systems, and automation to improve business performance.
- Ability to work effectively alongside sales and marketing leadership, with an understanding of how lead generation, sales performance, and operational execution influence profitability.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the confidence to challenge existing practices and implement necessary changes.
- Experience operating in lean, entrepreneurial, or owner-led organizations where leaders are expected to be hands-on, resourceful, and accountable for results.
- Experience in real estate investing, construction, home services, or other sales-driven and operationally complex businesses is beneficial but not required.
